Picky...picky...picky

In the first User's Comments, the author complains about various inaccuracies in the film.

He then refers to big names in the series, like Sam Waterson. I'm sure Sam Neill was not impressed with this faux pas.

Personally, I thought the railway spikes they were using looked too long, as I have an original spike from that era which measures only 5.5 inches in length.

I'm trying not to lose any sleep about it.

And by the way, isn't life funny?
When the CPR offered the Chinese a unique opportunity to make money and start a new life in Canada (which it actually was, although there were many downsides to the job, and I don't mean to understate that), the non-Chinese supervisors were long perplexed that, in spite of the opportunity, the workers seemed unhappy and morose, particularly when they weren't working.
It took them a long time to realize the source of their unstated unhappiness.
Do you know why?

The CPR had put the men in an environment where there were no women for them.
Oooops!
