Amazing

My whole family has battled mental illness and both Lauren and Ashley did amazing jobs portraying these characters Lauren blew my mind as I have personally been where her character was - The scene where she was banging her head on the wall hit home with me! Lauren is already one of my favorite actors but this pushed her over the edge! There were some parts that were a bit stereotypical - People also need to realize ECT is a real option and can help people its not cruel if used with proper morals - I don't condone it to suppress natural emotions like Homosexual desires or Anti Social behavior but depression and Delusions that are violent (which is actually not as common as in movies) could be helped!

As for the rape scene people need to realize that Risky behavior is apart of the Bipolar minds make up - its part of mania and can change as quickly as it did making her feel like she was being rapped when in reality she invited it - Again when somebody says stop you should but there is a fine line between rape and invitation! The whole film was put together well, Suicide with BPD is sadly very common I recommend people to do research before actually running there mouths also people don't realize there are different classifications of the disorder some have it a lot worse then others!

Great film all around!

I am happy a feature showed ECT as a healthy option it does have healing benefits thought people think it is in humane! Its a moral issue but like all moral issues people should be able to choose for themselves what they want! No body should be able to take away there right to seek help or limit there options!

Agreed. ECT is a medical procedure, just like a colonoscopy or endoscopy. It is a proven and highly effective treatment for depression and other mental illnesses. As for bipolar disorder, everything you note is absolutely true. Mania causes people to act impulsively and often with poor judgment.

No one "consents" to be raped (literally by definition); placing yourself in a position to be taken advantage of is never equivalent to consent and in many cases a direct consequence of the illness.

I agree that it is refreshing to see ECT portrayed as it should be -- an option for the treatment of a serious medical condition. In my opinion, the use of ECT is no more a moral issue than opting for a cardiac pacemaker or any other medical treatment.
