Rene's illness inaccuracy

While I'm not a rabid fan of Celine Dion I do appreciate her incredible talents. Christine Ghawi's portrayal was excellent plus she's a beautiful actress.

The film was entertaining but I have a question: wasn't Rene hospitalized for cancer, not a heart attack as shown in the film?

I'm pretty sure that he had a heart attack in the the early to mid 90s. Then later on in the decade, he was diagnosed with cancer which is pretty devastating =/
