Timeline was all wrong.

While I personally found the movie to be okay on its own...they *beep* up the timeline so much.

When she's eating with James Horner and he makes me listen to 'My Heart Will Go On', René and Celine talk about keeping their relationship secret. In 1998.

Well wow, they're champions at keeping the fact that they had a big public - pretty much live on tv wedding -

In 1994.

I totally agree with you. It bugged the h*ll out of me the whole time, I kept telling my boyfriend that it was all wrong.

If you are going to do something, do it right or go home...

The movie Titanic was released in 1997 so they probably approached her in 1995, a year after her actual wedding...and this is just an example.

Not only the timeline but the facts, the Dion never lived in a big house, and Celine never had her own room as a child, etc...

I thought the movie was either poorly researched or just plain lousy...

I know that because they couldn't use Celine's recordings, they had to make her sing in english since her childhood. The actresses can't speak french so that was lame too.

I think that they should have shown the biggest moments in her career/life:
-Singing for the Pope
-Tonight Show
-Oscars, twice
-Wedding
-Vegas (in the movie she says she wants to settle down, in 1993!!! Vegas came many years later)

i thought i heard on an oprah interview with celine that she said she wrote the song "because you loved me" for her dad after he passed away. in the movie she performs it on tour after rene has his heart attack. at that point in the movie her dad was still alive. so was the movie wrong or did i hear wrong information??

You heard the wrong information. For one thing, Diane Warren wrote "Because You Loved Me." And secondly, Celine's father was still alive when that song came out. He passed away in December, 2003, one month before Celine received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
