Red haired Kid

So who played the red haired kid?

What happened to him and the rabbi's granddaughter (Karoline/Angela) in REAL life?

reply

I don't know if those children were real children she helped or made up to represent children of that time but either way I wish they had showed more of what happened to them. Did I miss it or did they never show the red haired boy again after he got off the train in the middle of nowhere in the dead of winter? Based on the way it was presented I assumed he was meant to have survived, but they never showed how.

reply

The baby with the spoon in the casket/box was based off a real person.

reply

The red haired kid played Sergei Novik-Marchenko.

Random question - what was it about having red hair that indicated he was Jewish? I've never heard that before.

I came here wondering the same thing. My guess is that there just aren't any red-haired Poles.

I asked the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

reply

Yes, there are red-haired Polish people, not poles. My mother's side of the family all have red hair. I think it's a Eastern European thing.

reply

Of course there are many red-haired Poles, but there was higher percent of them in Jewish population. Since red-haired people are quite rare, this boy might be noticeable and someone might suspect him.

reply

Yes, I would love to find out more about the red haired kid and the rabbi's granddaughter, if they are portrayls of real people.

OP -

Could this be the red-headed boy?
