Am I the only person who thought it was scary as hell?

I thought it was a brilliant idea for a horror film, I don't think the acting was any worse then other horror films out today. I've seen MANY horror films and it's always the psychological ones that get to me. This, Silence of the Lambs, even the killer in Dirty Harry. I've shown this to many people and they all agree that it's a great thriller/horror. Just wondering if there are any fans?

I hated it. I thought it was laughable. There were a few creepy moments, but those were outweighed by the utterly bad acting, poor camerawork and the killer dressing up in Comedia Del Arte garb. And the balloon bouncing??? Sorry, not a fan at all. It's all been done before, and better.

I enjoyed the film.

Well, care to enlighten the classroom? I'd love to watch something you deem better.

We've met before, haven't we?

I thought it was very creepy and scary. The acting didn't bother me, either. I used to watch crime shows like 48 Hours and on the Tru Crime (whatever it's called) channel all the time and, for the most part, they were no more "wooden" than most real-life interviewees are. The killer's voice didn't bother me; in fact, it made it more realistic, especially when he would suddenly start yelling in contrast. Ted Bundy didn't have a scary voice. The only thing that did bother me is the quality of the videos. A sociopath like that who gets thrills videotaping everything to relive his heinous acts would want to have a better quality camera to keep his 'souvenirs' on. But that's a minor complaint. Overall, it worked for me.

I've already seen the worst movie ever made, so it can only be uphill from there.

I thought it was terrifying! I don't know what I would have done if I'd seen this in theatres, cry, possibly. XP I loved how someone else described the last (pre-credits) scene as William Castle-esque, it's so true.

I agree that a killer whose thing is taping would almost no doubt have a better video camera (I've seen a lot of these hand-held style films, and this one had the worst objective "quality" of the footage by far) but a few videos in I started really getting into the simply phantasmagoric feel of it as the colors shifted and things, and the imperfections of his films just started to add to their extreme creepiness. As if the film itself were as twisted as the killer's mind. I wouldn't have it any other way now - brilliant.

The killer's soft, sweet voice was one of the scariest things about him! One just doesn't imagine such horrifying words to be spoken in such a gentle, soothing way. And I loved his entertaining costumes. I love to dress up myself, and the first time I saw his, and what he gave Cheryl to wear, I was just stopped in my tracks, thinking "man, if he wasn't an evil psychopath I would want to be friends with this guy!" which also made him that much scarier to me in a way.

I too thought it was pretty damn scary 0_0 .
I can't even imagine this in theaters cause I'd assume there would be plenty of walk outs. It would be too much for the everyday viewer.
