Could've been better if they showed more of Cheryl and the killer.

Just watched this. Been searching for this film mindlessly for months. Found out that it got a shortly release through Direct TV Video On Demand in HD, and after several attemps I've got a site where I downloaded it. (Don't ask me where or how XD)

The film is quite interesting and has some really cool scenes, bearing in mind the limitations of mockumentary/found-footage genre and its low budget, it was ok.
The whole "mastermind serial killer" was kinda scary, but overall I found the film a bit convoluted and not well structured.

It felt like it lacked more depth regarding the "relationship" between Cheryl and the killer.
Would've been way better, scary and haunting if they showed more of that. Not gruesome scenes, not blood, not rape, none of it. But more like the scene where the two little girls selling cookies go inside the killer's house and well, then you see Cheryl completely out of her mind.

That's where I think the freaky and scary aspect of this movie would've worked a lot more. We don't see much of how the killer messed with her mind. All the mind games and other messed up stuff the killer tried with the girl.

That would've been scary.
It's just that after seeing the guy showing hundreds and hundreds of tapes stating that the killer was totally obsessed about Cheryl, they didn't showed much of it. After all, the movie is called The Poughkeepsie TAPES...

Anyways, interesting concept, but a bit lacking into the minds of the characters.
