Can you smell what the crazy Christian is cooking?!!!

I'm ok with everyone being themselves and praising their God however they want but c'mon. This dude is a little much. Is it just me or do you think Jesus is watching this dude and laughing his ass off.

reply

I think jesus is looking at him with love. I think Jesus might feel he's misguided in many ways, but at least he's out doing something. I think if Jesus were to laugh at anyone it would be at those who doubt Him or who feel science can be the answer to their troubles.

damn you science for giving us medicine to answer the trouble of disease!!!

reply

You forgot transportation to get to the hospital for that life-saving medicine.

reply

So all of our problems consist of are health related? With all of our modern medical advancments, and computers, transportation and everything else we are more lost than ever as a people. We kill each other, and it is technology which contributes to our efficiency in doing so. We hate ourselves we are removed from our families because technology has contributed in our removal from each other.

Science has made many great contributions, but without faith, what's it all for? What else is there? That's the question to ask yourself.

reply

thats just life. we started with nothing, technology advanced, it will keep advancing, we will eventually destroy ourselves with that advanced technology, and thats life. no faith involved there.

whats the point of life? I dont know, no one ever will. Whats the point of animals being born, only to die. Same with plants growing and then either being eaten, or just dying. same with humans. we are born, we live life, and then we die.

reply

And that's it? You die and it all ends right? Our faith looks to answer these higher questions which science could never hope to answer.

reply

yes. it just ends, what do you want?

you think God is up there and picking off people one by one?
"Hmm, I'll make this baby die at birth, and let this old guy live until he's 105 years old. but this guy should just die at 65 years old."

I mean we are born, we grow older, we have a family, then we die. Why does there have to be an afterlife? because its depressing to think of a world without one?

reply

You keep thinking that, that's fine. Your life is just that much emptier.

reply

you're just delusional if you think people who don't have god live empty lives. obviously theres something missing in your life considering you had to come out and attack "people who think science can answer their troubles" in your first post.

reply

THen again, you're the one trying your hardest to destroy my beliefs and even started a post calling Justin a "crazy Christian." THat screams empty soul.

reply

he is.

theres normal christians that keep their faith and beliefs to themselves. and then theres fatica, and you.

reply

Keeping our faith to ourselves? I don't see you practicing what you're preaching, you're letting everyone know about your pseudo-faith, most atheists are quick to tell the world about how they have no belief in God as if it's something that makes them smarter than everyone else.

Christianity is not something to be kept to one's self. Letting the world know that we're Christians and that we're proud to be Christians is part of the deal. The conversion of others is also part of being Christian. We don't force people to believe what we believe but keeping it as some kind of a secret is not part of the faith.

reply

I was defending myself on your post about "people who believe science can answer their problems." thats all there is too it, i didnt come in here saying "GOD IS WRONG, YOU GUYS ARE STUPID." yes I called fatica crazy, but did I say all christians are crazy? Nope, i was talking about Fatica because this is his documentary after all.

And Evangelical Christians definetely push their faith on people. I can't tell if you are one, but if you aren't then good for you.

reply

No, I'm not an evangelical, and while many evangelicals might push their faith down people's throats, not all are like that. I have had my own run ins with Evangelicals who are anti-Catholic and choose to put my faith down. One must find the delicate balance between Evangelizing as a good Christian should and being an overzealous moron. But overzealous morons can be found in all faiths and non-faiths.

now let us stop this pointless argument that we have had for the past week.

scientifically prove that after you die there is no after life or your theory is just as good as his theory for believing that there is life, or something, after death. Scientifically prove that in the future no one will ever know the point of life, prove that the question will never be solved.

Im not even christian but it goes both ways. You have to prove and back up all your *beep* like where the universe and space came from if your going to take the scientific aetheist approach in an arguement.

reply

where is the science in my argument?
is it not common sense that our technology has advanced? (internet)
is it not common sense that animals, plants, and humans are born than die?

just like I said, I don't know where the universe and all that jazz came from, and I don't believe anyone ever will.

I never said I dont follow christianity anymore because there is no scientific evidence. I don't follow it because it doesnt make sense to ME.

yea like when he was going around NY and was just asking random people if he could pray for them. That is just dumb.

Many Christians believe animals go to Heaven, and I'm one of them. So was pope John Paul II who once said; "the animals possess a soul and men must love and feel solidarity with our smaller brethren", and that animals are "fruit of the creative action of the Holy Spirit and merit respect" and are "as near to God as men are"

Some Bible quotes that support this feeling

ROMANS 8:19-21 "the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God, because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God."

LUKE 3:6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.'"
ACTS 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

REV. 21:5 And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
ECCLESIASTES 3:18 I said in my heart, "Concerning the condition of the sons of men, God tests them, that they may see that they themselves are like animals”.
ECCLESIASTES 3:19-20 Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath, man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust and to dust all return.
LUKE 3:6 "all flesh shall see the salvation of God."
PSALM 36:6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your judgments are like the great deep; you save humans and animals alike, O LORD.
GENESIS 1:30 and to every animal of the earth, and to every fowl of the heavens, and to everything that creepeth on the earth, in which is a living soul, every green herb for food. And it was so.

damn rats are probably running wild in heaven. i want to go to heaven to chill with my family and some cool celebrities. not a damn Elephant.

reply

Here we go again, more oversimplification in a failed attempt to sound funny. The sad thing is that this is your real interpretation of what heaven is even if you don't believe in it. It's this place where people "chill" with dead relatives. This is an earthly and hopelessly human way of looking at heaven. It is not of this world, heaven is being close to God for all eternity. There is no way for humans to comprehend eternity and no way to really understand the joy that will come from being with God forever. Hell on the other hand is the desperate sorrow and pain which comes from being away from God for all eternity. The Church has expanded it's view of Heaven and hell as more mental and/or spiritual and not at all physical.

You're not going to be chilling with anyone or anything. You're going to be in a spiritual state, even if you could chill with an elephant it would be with that elephant's spiritual essence, not his physical state.

Don't "spirits" just seem pretty far-fetched to you? We know that our brain is the where everything comes from, memories, feelings, functions. just like the CPU is the main unit of the computer. Once we die our brain shuts down and its over.

dont feel like I am attacking you, I like to get into religious "debates" like this because I feel it gives me a better understanding for both sides.

reply

The spirit transends the mind and body. Every culture has come up with the concept of a spirit many of these cultures did it independent of any other. These people nderstood that there is something more to human existance than the physical.

I believe in Jesus and what he did was great, however he wasnt the son of god. Just a crazy man with some great ideas. And I dont mean to use the word crazy in a bad way, I mean it in that he wasnt like the rest of humanity in giving into the urges. Gahndi was crazy too for wanting Muslims, Christians and Hindus to get along and live in one country together. Do I think he was somehow godly? No he was just a better person than most of us could ever hope to be.

The problem with religion is like all things, its corrupt. Look at the Catholic Church harboring and hiding pedophiles. Do I think they had some evil world wide plan to rape little boys? No I dont, but the fact is, they're as human as the rest of us, they just have the power most of us dont.

What is religion? Its rules to live your life by and a happy go lucky feeling something more happens when you die. Im a realist and I believe Achams Razor is probably true for religion as it is for most everything else. When you die, you're organic machinary stops working, breaks down, and eventually will turn into something else thanks to bacteria, worms, the elements, etc.

Also Im not saying there might not be something out there but I dont think its god in any of the terms that humanity believes. That's just selfish on our parts and come on, if God were really like us would their be much of a universe left? He'd be as crazy as we all are and probably destroyed everything long before we were created.

Sorry to nitpick, but it's Ockham's razor, named for William of Ockham, a 14th century Franciscan Friar.
