I guess it's a movie and it was made by British citizen, so it's through their lens they see India.

There are slums in some parts of India, but then again there are slum areas in some western countries.

reply

It's not the same thing.

This movie is very representative of India. And the slums. And there are many. Many many many. Poverty is intense. But there are also slums and poverty all around the world and not just India. South America, Africa, Indonesia, on and on. The "have world" is not representative of "the actual world".

And sorry but this movie is not racist.

You are incorrect, sir. I've been to India, including Mumbai. I was taken on a tour of the slums of Mumbai, and I assure you they are real, and they are terrible. I saw "homes" which were nothing more than a 12 x 12 concrete room with no running water, no toilet, no anything. It was just a place to sleep. Lord only knows where these poor people had to go to use the bathroom or take a shower.

Further, I saw Indian kids playing cricket in areas which were ankle deep in trash. And the working conditions are terrible. India is a fascinating country, but very poor.

There are slums in every country of this world, but the ones in India are some of the worst I've ever seen.
