Child nudity

The scene where the kid runs to the shower after the girl puts chilli peppers down his blanket. How were they allowed to film this?

reply

You can show cheeks; you just can't show the front, which they didn't.

Not every country is obsessed with an absurd and paranoiac Puritanism like the US. In most parts of the world, including Europe, young children still swim without a bathing suit. They are considered innocent, not pornographic. And, in fact, I don't think there is any restriction on the filming of a child's front either. The only problem is getting the finished product past American censors.

Perhaps you should rewatch Disney's Pollyanna (1960). The opening frames show a young boy (about the age of the boy in Slumdog Millionaire) who is BUTT NAKED swinging on a rope swing over a river and then falling into the water where he joined many other boys swimming (no doubt also nude). It is well known that at some point in our history (within the living memory of some) boys generally swam without bathing suits (that includes swimming at school).

Because in most parts of the world apart from America it's seen as an innocent act and not as something "to get away with". Believe it or not, young children swim without bathing suits in Europe.

Only America is that obssed about nudity and letting young children be naked and letting them watch it.

Does this overall question have to appear in the message board for every movie that has underage nudity?
