Was it better than the play?

This was one of the cases where television and film can obviously accomplish more in the way of visual trickery than the theatre can. So if anyone saw the play,was this filmed version better?

Sorry I've not seen the play so I don't know. I would say tho that I thought the acting, particularly Rhys Ifans, was just fantastic, so I guess the play would be as good provided it was acted as well. Does that make sense?

In a way it was better than the play as obviously a film version can accomplish certain special effects which the theatre is unable to ,such as the scene when all the sons appear.And while Daniel Craig was excellent in the original play,I agree that Rhys Ifans was even better in what is probably his best performance.
