Who do you like better?

Sam or Alex?

Annie or Shazz?

I like Alex a lot more than Sam. And I like Annie slightly more than Shazz.

Annie was a more important character in LoM than Shazz was in AtA ; yet, it seems to me we saw a lot more of Shazz, and not only because AtA had one season than LoM... I've always liked Liz White, she has a lovely voice and sure is better looking than Montserrat Lomber (although none of them are really beautiful women... but that's what's cool in these shows). But I'd say Shazz, as a character.

About Luigi and Nelson, same remark: Nelson has charisma, and he plays a part in Sam Tyler's equilibrium, he helps him rationalize, whereas Luigi has none of these qualities... but we see him a lot more than we see Nelson in LoM, and he's funnier. However, I don't think he can be seen as a comic relief, since AtA has a lot of humor (although it gets pretty dark near the end...). So... I'd say Nelgi.

Viv was a nice character, typical of the buddy movies from the eighties, and wasn't annoying as Phyllis, but that's the thing, I noticed Phyllis, whereas Viv was pretty much... unnoticeable (except in his last episode ^^;). So I'd say Phyllis. But none of them had much weight in the dramas.

Then, Alex or Sam... it's hard, both of them are great main characters. I think Sam is a lot more likable than Alex, but the writers did it on purpose, after all, in the beginning, she's an "uptown girl" who got it all figured out. But then she gets to you (I don't know if it's the proper expression). And Keeley Hawes is not only a great actress (I don't understand why people criticize her work), she also has the looks. That is why I would choose her in the end... maybe because I'm a guy. :)

Annie is a nice girl.
Shaz is wet and a weed.
Sam and Alex are both irritating and smug.

Alex, Annie, Luigi and Viv. I preferred A2A over LoM, but Annie was gorgeous. Liz White IS gorgeous.

Opinions are just onions with pi in them.

LOM over Ashes any day - Perfection!

I liked both Alex and Sam equally. Both had different approches and repsonses to the same situation. Sam was confused and bewildered and took it more seriously whilst Alex because she was a pyschologist and had access to sam's notes she thought that the place was just constructs which changed as time went on. But John Simm is one of the best actors of my generation.

I liked Annie and Shaz equally. Shaz had more balls and brains but Annie had those qualities as well but she flew under the radar until sam too her seriously.

Nelson was better but then in LOM it was all in sam's head whilst that changed in ashes. But I loved Luigi how he looked after alex, I suppose they could've done more to make Luigi Alex's guide since she had no one. I wonder why that was though.

Phyillis was fantastic whilst I didn't care much for Viv.

I initially found Alex to be really annoying in Series 1, but unbelievably, by the end of the Series 3, she really grew on me and I ended up liking her slightly more then Sam.

Annie is definitely my pick...though I also loved Shazz, but no one can top Annie.

Alex's behaviour made sense in series 1 but then again the writers did that on purpose but I hated her in series 3. She became too confused and to passive. I thought the writer's had given her a personality transplant. How on earth could she believe that Gene could've been a cop killer who murdered Sam? Stupid. Alex in series 2 was better because she was fiesty and stood up to everyone but was still vulnerable and confused.
