why no blu ray release?

just wondering why no blu ray was released anybody know?

It is available on Blu-Ray, in the UK at least. I have boxsets of Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes.

I still haven't found a U.S. edition. I wasn't able to follow the whole series when it was on BBC America. I had hoped to buy A2A, but I haven't found one that plays in U.S. dvd players.

Why, in the 21st century, do we still have regions?

Grrr.

There's another post around here where someone emailed Kudos about it & they were told there would be no US edition of this show because the music rights were too much money, so UK edition only.

A region free dvd/blu-ray player are very reasonable nowadays. I found one on amazon.com for $169.00 & it's worth it for situations like this.

Unfortunately, rights to music, video, etc for different regions are going to be with us for a very long time.

Something I recently found out is the US DVD's of UK Life on Mars for some of the episodes have alternate music used due to rights.

Yeah, I'm not gonna pay a $160+ for a new DVD player just to play one show, especially when I have a working DVD player that plays the rest of my DVDs.

But thanks anyway for the suggestion.

Oops, I tell s lie. I thought I had both on Blu-Ray but it seems I only have Life on Mars. I must have been waiting for the release of Ashes to Ashes. May have to buy it on DVD now as it doesn't look as though it's gonna get a release :(

I'm annoyed that there hasn't been a DVD release for A2A here in the US.

I actually emailed the BBC and got a "...thank you for your request...at this time..."

I only got through the first season (series), and I feel so unfulfilled.

Damn BBC.

I heard about this yesterday. Do a search over on dailymotion & you should be able to find full episodes of A2A, all three series.

That's the only place I've seen it recently. Back in January both LoM & A2A were on Hulu & that's where I watched them. They disappeared in February. Haven't seen them back on Netflix (any country).
