Did NOT think this was a real movie...

Oh. my. God.

I saw a preview for this before seeing Tropic Thunder again tonight. My friends hadn't seen Thunder and thought this was one of the fake previews. Honestly. And in fact, I didn't know what the hell I was watching.

This didn't even look like it could be a made-for-tv movie. And the music! What the F?

Shock and Horror. Total disbelief. This looks like a steaming pile of horse crap.

Just saw the preview last night and had the same reaction as you. Well, not quite. I really didn't know what to make of it. I saw an actor from Kingpin though and thought maybe this was a Farrelly bros endeavor. How bizarre!

reply

Yeah...had the same reaction. I thought it was a joke.

The entire audience burst out laughing when the guy goes "You are a navy seal". Mind you, I'm in Canada, so this type of ridiculous propoganda is somewhat foreign to us.

Seriously, though, it does look fake. However, I will probably see it because it's one of those things that is so bad, it's good.

Is there any possible way this movie is toungue in cheek? I sure as hell hope so.

reply

I know eh hahaha Navy Seals, their rep was destroyed the day the movie Navy Seals came out. I was expecting him to say Marine and when he said Navy Seal I almost laughed, but was suddenly scared, because I realized the film wasn't a comedy.

I love how a black guy playing basketball is also viewed as a thug or something terrible and that it is trying to say that to become a doctor when your black you first have to avoid being a crack dealer / gang banger.

Hahahah this piece of sh it is hilarious now that I think about it, I think everyone should go to it and laugh at how it's such a piece of sh it, whenever something serious is said everyone should just laugh, fart and throw stuff at the screen.

I bet when the director was filming this he was either taking a break to look at a sunset and saying to himself, " *beep* I'm a proud American" or he was crying and thinking about hanging himself with the film negatives for this movie.

reply

Yeah, it looks absolutely atrocious. Mindless patriotism is tasteless and stupid, but poorly made blind patriotism is just sad.

A guy in another thread said this hasn't sold a ticket in his local theater since it opened two days prior. Not a single one....

Crazy. And look at this board; there are like six threads all together. I almost want to see this movie to see how ridiculously bad it is.

And who funded this thing? Who's idea was it? The military's?

reply

I totally agree about "poorly maid blind patriotism"! Glad to see someone else posting here make a comment about the filthy patriotism this movie tries to build up..

anyone notice how the user "sweatpeach" comments in almost every topic? I wonder if she was paid to do it... haha

I watched the entire thing expecting there to be the sound of the needle being pulled off the record, followed by a series if wacky slapstick jokes. When it just ended my jaw dropped.

reply

Supposedly it was made by the Walmart family or Coca Cola, so it DID come from a corporate machine.

reply

Seriously, I expected an "Do you want to know more?" at the end of the preview.

Propaganda this cheesy might work in North Korea, but not in America: the country that produced The Simpsons.
