I watched an edited version of Equilibrium

I'm a big fan of the movie Equilibrium. Every so often, I check out eBay to see if there are any cool items or collectables related to the movie. One day I stumble across someone selling an edited copy of the movie, saying it was from a "personal collection" (looking back now, based on the movie's timeline, I may have bought it from one of those stores trying to blow out their inventory - yikes). It wasn't from the official "Cleanflix" brand, but one of the knock-offs named in the lawsuit: Family Flix.

I couldn't pass it up. I thought: "How could they possibly sanitize a movie so full of ultra-violence as Equilibrium?" Well, they basically didn't. Literally all that was trimmed out was the movie's two swear words and a close-up of an elbow getting broken... but the funniest edit was removing Emily Watson's line of her saying "Oh my god" when she realized Christian Bale was no longer taking the drug. That's it. Barely two seconds cut out and suddenly one of the most violent movies ever (in terms of on-screen body count) is perfectly okay to watch.

I also found the notion of censoring a movie whose central message is one of anti-censorship to be hysterically, mind-blowingly ironic.

Yeah, and (this is the 2002 Equilibrium neo_jenner's discussing herein) E is about feelings in danger, as neo's last sentence said..(never watched E myself, but saw CF just tonight steeaming media).
