'The Big Muddy'

..."Waist deep in the big muddy
Big fool says to press on..."

Seeger wrote this song as a Vietnam War protest, and concert footage of him singing it was censored by TV networks for quite a while.

Seems to me that the lyrics above could easily apply to the war in Iraq, perhaps with just a minor change of "muddy" to "sandy."

Ain't history something--the way it repeats itself?

Yep. "When will they ever learn?"

I'd say about 98% of Pete Seeger's songs and political actions, both anti-war and environmental, apply today.

He's truly timeless.

With his grandsons, Tao Rodriguez-Seeger, the musician, and Kitama Jackson, the film maker, his legacy will carry on the Seeger name.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.
