House of Meh's

My review of this film. AGree or Disagree.

The usual teen slasher, although I would have classified it a 15 not an 18, about 2 step sisters and 4 other yoofs that decide to leave a party early and spend the night in the yet to be opened "House of Fears", like you do on a standard night out.

Unfortunately the owner of the house of fears has brought back a statue that can release your fears and kill you with them.

SO you get the usual "what is your greatest fear" ranging from confined spaces, buried alive, clowns(!), being stabbed, going insane etc.. and you from this moment you can guess what will happen to the teens.

I was a bit disatisfied by the deaths, I expected the girl who fears of confined spaces would have been mummified in the egyptian tomb or something more gory but her death is realy lame (I won't spoil how lame!)

You then have killer clowns, Undertakers (yep an undertaker that looks like UNcle Fester) and SCarecrows (yep a fear of scarecrows) running around trying to kill those that fear them.

There is ONE moment of scariness involving a shop dummy. It was the only real hi-light for me.

It is the kind of film best watched after a few beers and can see the funny side of things.

It isn't bad but it is not a film I would watch again and again.

The cast to an OK job, better then some teen flicks but it is predictable and I was slightly disappointed with it.

No extras on the disc bar the trailer. The film runs for less then 90 minutes despite saying 112 minutes on the back of the DVD (Cheeky!).

My greatest fear would be to watch this film again!

Agreed, but I'd take everything you said and rip a hole 10 times wider.

disagree, I've seen a lot of really bad horrorfilms and this one is actually okay. I'd say the cast and director did a wonderful job and that this movie definatly deserves more credit then a lot of crap I've seen recently.

I thought it was pretty decent. I've seen much worse.

I liked the fact that the house preyed on individual fears. Made it seem more supernatural than just a slasher flick. I do wish they had done more with that premise and made it more terrifying, but the idea def was a nice twist.
