Cops speaking english?

Any idea why the couple of cops in the movie were speaking english? What the hell was the reason for that? It wasnt as if it was a plot development, it just seemed totally meaningless.

I may be a bit late in replying, but it looks to me as if they are Interpol cops, not local ones.

it,s interpol they are cops from different nationalities they use english to speak between them
