pathos

A lot of people will think this is the "worst movie ever made" (although I've seen that moniker put on nearly every movie on IMDB by someone...) and indeed it is very slow. Fans of "action" movies will certainly turn it off 10 minutes in. But for those of us with the patience to just let it unfold and see what happens, we're rewarded with a little jewel. The landscape, the animals, the few characters, and the pacing all work together to give this seemingly unemotional tale quite an emotional ending- it hits you at the end, and you don't see it coming.
The POV is interesting, and everything happens in nearly real time- almost as though we are there when the minimal action takes place. The story is an interesting character study, the direction a study of sorts itself. I have a feeling this is one of those films that will stay with me for a while, in a haunting sort of way.
