It's fantastic!

I'm just about done watching it on BBC2 and it's fantastic. Everyone looks great, all a little bit bigger around the middle, but they look fantastic and they're still great to watch.

The way they've intercut the interviews and flashbacks with the new scenes works really well.

An excellent idea very well executed.

Ah, couldn't agree more with you there! And very well said about how they look. Actually I was amazed by how little difference there is, after they put on the costumes and make up, especially. If you look at Rene - he's almost the same, and even more so is Yvette! =D
But I love how they hadn't forgotten their roles and everyone did a great job in acting it out.
I loved Gruber!^^ Singing to Rene again "Mad about the boy" and I loved those lines:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gruber: "Rene, even after all this time you haven't changed at all!"
Rene: "I see neither have you..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gruber: "I am sure you could also feel that there was always something special between us."
Rene: "Yes - the bar." (quickly making his way behind the bar)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh and it was a great idea to include the audience in the show as well. Lol, Crabtree 'translating' 'French' to the English people.. And then teaching them French! XD Hilarious!
Personally I thought the segment with Gruber was the best one. Some of the best lines ever....."Tell me, is the old upright still working?" LOL LOL
reply
What exactly did he mean by that though..?
reply
He was referencing the piano, but of course we ALL know he meant Rene, in one way or another. LOL Those double meanings are what made this show work.
