I don't think I was anywhere near that immature at 17

These two talk like they were kids at 17 years old. I was pretty much grown at 17, I just wasn't paying bills. Like grounded? and worrying about your parents and stuff. When I was in high school, I took care of myself. I fed myself and so on. Although, I do think that movies tend to infantilize teens and young adults and TV makes teens act older.

I mean isn't being grown up about being responsible? So wouldn't a teen who does their homework and gets good grades like they are supposed to and not partying dressing acting slutty and so on, more mature than the housewife who doesn't work and doesn't even deal with the house because she just cries and makes her mom or husband do it... or mother-in-law....
