Rami Malek was more creepy than the serial killer...

His mannerisms were so bizarre and off kilter. I thought the plot twist was going to be that he's the killer.

reply

He does that all the time, it’s just him overacting like usual. Him and Leto were both trying to overact each other.

reply

Yeah i'll admit, I haven't seen him in much else. He seemed so bizarre in this, almost like he's a cyborg pretending to be human.

reply

He is doing the same role as in Mr Robot (perfect name, right? :D )

Haven't seen him in other movies but i get the point.

I thought Leto was pretty good in this role. He plays those flawed or different humans well (e.g. Requiem for a Dream, Lord of War, Dallas Buyers Club, Chapter 27).

I don't know if Malek was going all Jim Carrey with the overacting, but he was miscast in this role. Sometimes its just better to go with the lesser known name if that person fits the part better.

reply

I was creeped out by him the entire movie. He was seriously miscast here.

reply

Yeah, terrible casting choice. He was perfect for Mr. Robot, but I don't think I'll ever be able to take him seriously for any "normal" roles.

reply

He has always creeped me out.

reply

I also thought malek was the killer from the moment denzel got on the case! he was too serious and he didnt like denzel being all over the case!it was an ok movie~

reply

I thought he was miscast. A different actor wouldn't have saved the film, but it would've made it better.

reply

Yeah, he could play Frank the Rabbit in Donnie Darko - no mask!

reply

Lol

The first time I saw him was on The War at Home playing the gay neighbour, and apparently rainbows coming out of his ear. I'll never forget that image and keep remembering it whenever I see him in his new roles :D https://img.youtube.com/vi/E__rs4nSgiE/maxresdefault.jpg

The war at home, I liked that sitcom. It didn't stick around long though.
