Aniston's patience with awful horrible brother-in-laws

One more thing....I just can't believe how selfish and unhelpful Jenn's sisters and their husbands were. The only one doing anything around the house and helping her dad was Aniston's character! They would've been out the door the moment they were listening to his collection of vinyl albums! I would have said "get the hell out of here!" and then when everyone is just sitting there on their fat butts, only getting food for themselves, that would have been where my foot met their butt to forever kick them into the street.
when Affleck came over and washed dishes and went grocery shopping, I cried. I hate selfish people! I know its just a movie but.......

there are lot of idiots out there just like that!!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent. Anyone agree with me and what would you have done?

reply

I agree. I would have flipped out.

Thank you!!!!

I went to see this in the theaters and when she comes into the kitchen and sees Ben's character there, the whole theater just gasped and was like "aw!" I had been an Affleck fan for a long time and it was funny to be around all these women who basically fell in love with him at once. Lol

That was the best part of the movie for me. Such a beautiful scene.. sigh.

I know! She must have been a saint to have put up with that. Her sisters, I assume, were not as helpful since they had kids. But, the husbands! What neanderthals! Their wives allow it though. On the other side, it gave Beth a chance to see how amazing she had it with Neil, even though they were not married.

When she sees him doing dishes, it was so sweet :')

I agree entirely, but come on - the way the scene is written, obviously it is intended to display Afleck's character as sensitive and considerate by contrasting his behavior with the self-absorbed slobs in the living room. So, those folks are really just strawmen set up for Afleck's benefit. As dense as I was in some social situations, even I would have leaped at the chance to show my considerate and helpful side to Jennifer had it been offered to me.

LOL, I know, but I just imagine myself in her position and I would go ballistic and either kick them out or beat them up! (JK) You are right. And I would also do whatever I could to help her too! Ya know, I was just watching that, were you watching it also?! :)

Wait! Wait! Where are you going? I was gonna make Espresso!

reply

Ah, you caught me - I surfed over from an old flick on TCM and couldn't stop watching the danged thing even though had seen it several years ago...usually can't tolerate recent romcoms.

reply

LOL Ya, I just love that one especially. I think because it is what we ladies do and just how we talk!!!! :) If you are a guy, I just gave away a secret!! lol

Wait! Wait! Where are you going? I was gonna make Espresso!
