Am I the only one that liked Jennifer Connelly's character?

It's not that I LOVED her character, I just felt bad for her. Yes, she was a little weird about him smoking but he did lie to her about it. It was something that was hard for her to accept because of her father dying.

I just felt bad for her because she did truly love him and wanted them to get their relationship back together. She also admitted that him cheating was probably her fault because she's changed and she isn't that fun anymore. That's why she immediately wanted to make things work when he confessed to her because she knew she was part of him doing it (even though I think cheating is never okay, imo).

Idk, I just felt bad for her but I loved what she did in the end. I liked how it was about her finding herself and not finding another man.

i LIKED her character i think of all the characters she's probably the one that grew the most. I felt so bad for her she didn't deserve what he did to her especially after confessing to her and her wanting to work on the marriage and he continued to chase Anna.

One thing i don't agree with is that She truly loved him I don't think she did and I think she realized that. After she goes to his office and they have sex she's leaving she stumbles on her words as she's telling him I Love you and the look on her face like she's asking herself WAIT A MINUTE, DO I LOVE HIM? She could have been obsessed about the SMOKING thing because she was looking for reasons to hate him or be angry with him so she wouldn't have to sleep with him because she DIDN'T LOVE HIM.

That's my theory.

I'm not crazy M'Lynn, I've just been in a very bad mood for forty years.

That's a good theory. I figured she loved him because she broke down crying at work saying they never have sex. I think if she didn't love him, then she wouldn't have been so emotional about him cheating and them not having a healthy sex life.

I think when she said "I love you" to him (after they had sex) she probably felt like she didn't say it enough to him. Or maybe she felt like her saying that and him saying it back would make her feel better about their relationship.

Then again, you could be right.

I hated Anna -_-

I dunno - I ended a 17-year marriage because my ex refused to give up smoking, and she wasn't even considerate enough to only indulge her habit outside of the home and lie about it. Only those who have lived with a four-pack-a-day addict and suffered with the foul-smelling clothes and furnishings and damaging health effects on themselves and their children really know how obnoxious tobacco addiction can be. I was completely in sympathy with Connelly's character.

I concur!!!! I despise smoking! I will not date a smoker!! Deal breaker!! :)

I felt bad for her as well. I think she was kind of a pain, especially about the hard wood flooring but the smoking???? That was the straw that broke the camel's back! I hate smoking and cigs and actually, for me it is a deal breaker to even date someone! If they smoke, not a chance. But I did feel bad for her.

I wouldn't say I like her character. So much as I understand her. There's something very human about someone who can put up with a lot, like a cheating husband and a loveless marriage, yet be tipped over the edge by that one certain thing - in this case, the smoking. It's so dysfunctional, but kind of normal in a weird way.

She was not getting affection from her husband any longer, that was not helping.

My gosh, if this were real life and I found out her husband was cheating on her with that bleached blonde, would have to seriously bitch slap him, and tell him to take care of his brunette beauty.
