complaint (SPOILER)

i really liked this game, but the one part that i thought i could go without is those creepy things that attack you near the end of the game (sorry, i don't,know what the're called)

anyways im stuck on the bunker level trying to put the power back on, so can anyone give me some tips on beating this?

Well, as soon as you turn the generator on and the alarms sound, run to the open door and run and gun, that way if you use the MP40, the mutants shouldn't be able to strike you. Run and gun to the switch, which is on the platform at the end where the mutant runs at you. (hope I'm not confusing you). The mutants can't climb, so you'll be safe. On the platform is a grenade or two and an MP40. Pick up these if needed, then pull the switch. You should then see another door opening and more mutants. If you haven't enough MP40 bullets, there is an MP40 next to a dead German in the corner nearby. Now go back to the main room, running and gunning as you go, and proceed through the newly opened door. Same as before, run gun to the platform, pick up ammo, activate the switch, then you will see the door you originally entered the main room from open. Run and gun to the door. Bingo. Then follow your way back to a cutscene, then a small group of mutants will attack. Just kill them then open the closed door. You must kill them all, otherwise if you try to open the door, a mutant will jump down and kill you. Hope this helps.

thanks for the help

Those things (I call 'em zombies) are pretty creepy, but I think that they just add to the experience. It's a little out of place, but hey it's fun to be scared in this case.

I really hated those things. They were even worse than the pirates.

When you've fully activated the power, if you go back to the generator and then head towards the exit, mutants keep on coming out the vents.

if you pay attention to the storyline....you'll find out that those "zombies" are the curse of the statue...they are the spaniards who took the statue from it's original location and they were turned into those things....they aren't out of place at all....

reply

Yeah, I knew that. But calling them "Spaniards" sounds less cool than "zombies".

I know that Nate needed another enemy to shoot once he had made it past all the sniper/mercenaries! But I thought that the game lagged because of this tossed in ingredient! As soon as I realised something sci-fi'is was going to happen (Walking into downstairs basement eerie projection room) I was dissapointed in the way it had gone! Don't get me wrong I like sci fi...but there is a time and place, and a total diff genre to explore it!

It reminds me of the game THIEF, when all the zombies come out! Also they were an aggresive version of the N64 Zelda:Ocarina of time... Church Zombies!lol!~

Well, if we're going to get technical, I believe the staff refers to them as "Descendants." At least, I believe that's what the concept art was labeled.

The spaniards look like the things from Iam Legend.

The best way to kill these guys is by shooting them in the upper body. Otherwise it tends to take a few more bullets and noone likes running out of bullets!
Once you get in the side room, up on the ledgeand flick one power switch, drop off the ledge and be ready for a few 'spaniards' to attack. If you stay right near the ledge aiming back down the hall, it will make it easier to kill them as they can only come from the one direction.
Once youve gone to the other room and done the same thing with the power and the spaniards. slowly creep out the door - youll notice that some more 'spaniards' appear. Quickly run back into room where you just flicked the switch and aim out the doorway. All the 'spaniards' will then have to come at you from front on, making it easy to pick them off.

As you make your way back to the projection room (who the heck started that projector anyway?) youll get a few more of them appearing. If you can get through that then, you will start to see that the 'spaniards' and the Navarros men will fight each other for you - of course you will still have to take some of them out.
One of the most important things to remember is that you cant hit a 'sspaniard' you can only shoot them - and, they cant reach you if you are hanging from a ledge or standing ontop of a crate.
Hope this helps.

p.s. yes at first it seemed weird that these things were in the game but i guess that they were explained by the end. They may have been monstors but they were still human, which made it easier to believe.

I just found it more frustrating the time it takes Nate to reload his gun as the "spaniards" kept coming - they don't exactly move slowly!

I was also a bit disappointed when the descendants came. And I was so creeped out that I didn't play for over a week, but today I started playing again and beat the game. But after all I really enjoyed the game a lot.
