Would we have gone to Iraq

If Gore had won this? What do you think?

Excellent movie, btw. Re-watched it twice last night on HBO.

Heck no. Hundreds of thousands of people would be alive today. Iraq wouldn't be such a ----hole today.

There would be some form of morass. Saddam Hussein would have been back in business, since the UN probably would not have reauthorized the combat aircraft suppression (fly over zones), and nations would have started doing business with Saddam again. But I am convinced this would have been preferable to the metaphorical blood on American hands, and the current headaches it has volunteered to manage in the Middle East, as Team America: World Police.

Most likely not, however I think it is worth noting that Leiberman was Gore's VP. Leiberman was by far the most aggressive Iraq War hawk in the Senate during the Bush years. Don't think it's out of the question that he would have pushed Gore has hard as he could have to go to Iraq or anywhere in the Middle East.
