That older daughter wanted to jump Lious.

It was so blatantly obvious that she wanted to sleep with him, she did a very poor job of hiding her true feelings. Watch how her step even changes after she talks to him, she almost sway's.

God I feel sorry for those kids.

O man thinking about it that way!! I would have had an aneurysm if I was her!!

reply

I just watched the documentary and was ready to mock every member of the WBC. Don't get me wrong, I still think what they do is despicable. However, I admit that the strongest feeling I have left after watching is profound sorrow for those children. I'm really truly sorry for them. After seeing them play basketball and have fun on the trampoline, it literally hurts to see the environment within which they're growing up, and the kind of people they are very likely to become. I'm not usually the mushy type, but this truly makes me sad.

Cyanfenix has a good point. There she is, a good looking girl at her physical and emotional sexual peak, living in an enviroment where she has been brought up to believe that every natural urge she has is wrong. She has probably never been given the oppurtunity to discuss her sexuality with anybody.
Then, suddenly, along comes this handsome, intelligent man who seems genuinly concerned for her and the way she lives her life.
Without coming on to her, he is the first person she's probably ever met who treats her as an independent sexual being.

reply

It was pretty horrifying when you realised they *actually believed* that the apocalypse was inevitible in their lifetime and, logically from that, there was no point for the kids to date or get married because they were the last generation so sex, being only for procreation, could now only be sinful under all circumstances.

That crossed my mind, and i felt so bad for those girls. They'll never marry or have kids. Or even have real love in their lives.

I totally got a sexual vibe from her. Of course, everything that came out of her mouth was her cult programming, but her mannerisms, tone and body language showed that she was smitten.

And it makes sense - from a biological standpoint, this guy was probably the first potential mate that she's ever had, considering that she lives with 70 family members, and her body was reacting to that.

reply

I bet she's still thinking about him.

reply

Seriously, and the thing was is that, dispite the twisted, hate fueled rubbish that was coming out of her mouth, she seemed like a total sweetheart. What a shame to never have a chance at independent thought. I suppose thats how it goes when you live with Shirley. That crazy bag never stops talking. Having a conversation with her is impossible. But it almost seemed as though the daughter was on the brink of feeling...

Oh God. Now I want to write fanfiction about them. How sad is that?

I must say, I had this thought too, and then felt like a loser, LOL... glad I wasn't the only one.

Uhm, of course Louis is handsome...

Who discovered we could get milk from cows and what did he think he was doing at the time?

reply

OMG I was thinking the exact same thing! that would've been awesome though, if only he'd stayed just a few extra days..

reply

Ha I came here to mention just that!

She was so horny for him, she squeaked, so did the one going to college.

It would have been hilarious to see a quick scene of Louis bending her over the sign-making table and banging her like a chinese gong - with the BBC film crew filming away, and old pastor Phelps finding them ... he'd foam at the mouth like a rabid dog, and go nuts.

reply

"and old pastor Phelps finding them ... he'd foam at the mouth like a rabid dog, and go nuts."

I'm certain. If Nate and Mark's word is to be believed (and seems to be), he actually refused to let his kids marry anyone he didn't approve of. His kids, who were legal adults. And when Fred Jr. dated a sweet girl who he genuinely loved and who loved him back, his dad basically spent every minute accusing her of being a whore who slept around and laughed at her when she had some weird seizure thing. And apparently the buzzard made the same comments about Mark and his girlfriend. >.<

I felt sorry for Jael and for the other girl who was interviewed. The one who said that there was a guy who asked her out for coffee once and she turned him down. And when she was asked if she remembered his name she said she didn't...then said "it was Robert". So yeah... :(

reply

You know what? I've just watched Atonement and the ending hit a nerve so, screw it! I'm going to write fanfiction about them! Mock me if want, but I'm going to do it! Him being nuts deep in her over the sign making table may or may not be featured.
Stay tuned...

Actually, if you paid close attention, she was about to say "he was actually pretty cute" and then she stopped herself and Louis detected that and she ended up saying his name was Robert, but that's NOT what she was about to say. Pay CLOSE attention.

reply

I think it's really sad that so many posters are finding the idea of "liberating" her from her family would or should mean that she'd jump right into society's traditional role for a woman - to marry and have children. Why on earth would you want to trade her indoctrination by the church for society's indoctrination for the traditional role of women?

reply

Yeah that's a fair point, but I think people were referring to the fact that she should at least have a Chance to have love in her life from people outside her family, whether that's having her own family or even just friendships.

reply

If that's Megan you are talking about, what a difference 4 short years makes. She was the 21 year old college girl who seemed like she had the potental to be a nice normal person. She has recently appeared in some of their recent videos, including one where she sings a parody of Lady GaGa, and she just looks bitter & angry. Of course wouldn't you be too if that was your life.

reply

The OP said "It was so blatantly obvious that she wanted to sleep with him, she did a very poor job of hiding her true feelings. Watch how her step even changes after she talks to him, she almost sway's. "

LMAO that was what I thought! She was practically crawling up the walls 8-)

reply

I've just watched it again and all she was doing was giggling like a little schoolgirl to everything he said. She really did want him I'd reckon. It would've been on like Donkey Kong.

reply

Isn't she one of the girls who recently left the "family"

Basil: Don't mention the war. I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it.

reply

No, that was not her who left the family recently.

reply

Actually yes, Megan HAS left.

reply

Interestingly enough Jael ended up marrying another British man with a look similar to Louis.

reply

I noticed that too! And I thought her behavior here had been more flirty than Megan's. I mean really Jael? The way she playfully shoved him, almost fell over in that idiotic joking way at the bowling alley when he got a gutter ball. The girls were ridiculous with him.
