This was fantastic
I was part of a group of Curtin University heritage studies students who put together an interpretative exhibition to be installed at Curtin's Cottesloe home, in 2003. It was great to see the people we researched brought to life by this brilliant cast.
Some of the scenes and dialogue in the movie were inspired by surviving quotes and photographs (the scene of Elsie and Young Elsie receiving the phone call from Curtin in Canberra, for example, mimics exactly a photo held in the John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library at Curtin Uni [ http://john.curtin.edu.au/ ]). This gave it a ring of authenticity for me.
My only criticism is that I would have loved to see more. I don't think the existing timeline should have been stretched much further - while it did skim a little, it could also have become very boring if it moved more slowly. But it would have been interesting to see a second 'episode' covering the rest of Curtin's term in office until his death in 1945.
Overall an excellent presentation and great acting. Two thumbs up.
