The fiery confrontation at the end was some of the best action ever made

It was high quality action/violence, because it was not repetitive. Too many films don't think creatively when orchestrating the action sequences, and end up showing too much of the same shot. But Straw Dogs 2011 provided a very extensive action-packed repertoire. And the best knockout "punch" I've ever seen.

Agreed. The heating of the coiling oil in pots was genius. What a perfect way to not only disarm someone, but keep them in excruciating pain to keep them from thinking clearly.

Also you saw the setup for the bear trap a mile away. But how it "went off" was very unexpected.
