Who dun-it?

Think it was the wife without children or the neighbor's hubby? Or... maybe they conspired together.

Right now, I'm leaning towards the wife with no kids.

Spoilers...

It wasn't the childless couple. It was the woman's husband. He was having an affair and was just crazy. He killed her.

Behold, I wander in as yet _another_ who asks the ending, because of a power-failure at 7:40 pm on August 19, 2011, that forced us to miss the last 20 minutes (or indeed the last 4 hours, were the show that long :) ).

Now KAnnD86 has given an answer - thank you! - but I am still puzzled. The detective _said_, "we got our man." In the scene where the husband and neighbors sip wine and have a moment of silence for the murdered wife, there is also mention that even a confession has been obtained. So how does it get to be the husband who is the perpetrator, after that?

Thank you for your time.
