I caught this at the WI Film Fest a few months ago and was very impressed. I've found myself interested in watching it again, especially since re-watching a lot of the old Ultraman episodes.
Does anyone know if there are plans for a US DVD release? I see on the website that there's a Japanese DVD out, but between region issues and subtitle issues, that might be more pain than it's worth.
Anyone have any info?
Hello, I saw this fantastic movie at the Toronto Film Fest last September. Have you got a reply yet on any release date? I know you can order it from Japan but it would cost a fortune to import.

It's down for a North American theatrical release in March 2009 by Magnolia Pictures.
Limited I'm sure, but it's happening.

shareThere are region 2 and region 3 releases, both with English subtitles. The region 3 is the one I've seen. It's a two disc set, available online for $17 (not sure about shipping, or if that's just HK dollars). The subtitling has one or two minor problems, but was overall understandable. Not sure what's on the second disk.
shareWhy was this even released in America? It doesn't translate the same if you aren't into this culture and therefore is plain awkward.
