I actually liked this movie.

I seriously did. Not the best film ever, obviously, but very underrated.

I know people have different tastes, but it's blatant that alot of people that rated the movie a '1' haven't even seen it. Sure, it's not the best movie ever made but it does NOT deserve a one. It's better than a majority of the crap made nowadays.

And what you've got to remember is that ultimately the movie was made for kids. I personally think it's a film for all the family to enjoy but I think kids (who are the target audience!) would love it.

So I just don't see what everyone's problem is. You're not the target audience.

Sure it's a bit over exaggurated at times (mainly when Melanie's with her friends) but that's whats funny. The writers obviously wrote it so it would mock the 'typical teenager' - it's not serious.

I'm with you - I didn't expect much since I have never liked Martin Lawrence and I have to be in just the right mood for Raven-Symone and Disney movies are very hit and miss with me - but - I have been a Donny Osmond fan for many years and I like Lucas Grabeel, so I got it out from the library anyway.

They did a great job of keeping the comedy wacky and farcical without making it stupid and painful to watch, which is very difficult. And they didn't make the teens the self-absorbed unlikeable caricatures that seem to be just about all we see anymore. What a wonderful change.

They even made me not mind Martin Lawrence and I never thought that would happen.

Would have like more Donny and Lucas but still, a cute, fun little movie that hits the spot when you just want a little innocent fun.

yeh i actualy enjoyed this movie as well even though it was not made for my audience. im 24 now and saw this when i was 20 but realy enjoyed it. yes the acting was over the top and raven symone was a tad annoying at times but theres just times when you need some light entertainment to chill with. i think the only thing i was dissapointed with was the run time as it was too short. but as like i said this movie wasnt made for my age group and as parents keep telling me kids have very shot attention spans these days. they need to make more movies like these and people need to just relax from time to time.

I think that the film was good but would have benefitted from a longer running time.

I don't know how, maybe it really is for kids because I found this movie practically incomprehensible as simple as it is. Plus I can't imagine Northwestern U is very happy with the movie.

Same. It was funny and entertaining. People are sometimes too critical.
