The Script Sucked Horribly

Clearly this was pathetically LOW-BUDGET. The story script itself was so weak I would've been embarrassed to register it with SAG. The acting was dead, without emotion and the film editing and green screen mistakes was... put it like this, I could've done better with my Sony Hi-8. The gunfight scenes were dumb, stupid and unrealistic not to mention the fact they kept repeating the same type of fight... Ha ha... A complete joke... I got to the point where I just didn't care anymore. The love interest and resulting sex scene was stupid and uneventful. The Final Act simply ran out of steam, as the so-called hero ex-mobster dies and bets $750,000 on a horse race which wins and the girl only gets $240,000 (after the bookie's cut) to open a restaurant... What a jip!!! I think the writer was smoking crack and decided to give up to hit the pipe more earnestly. How in hell they managed to get this thing produced and distributed is unbelievable, but it gives me hope as a screenwriter. They should have paid the audience to watch this dreck... I enjoyed writing this bashing commentary. What a relief... I feel much better now...

I don't know about ahart, but myself I feel I should finish watching a movie to have the right to criticize it.

Also peaquod, this is a forum to discuss our views on the movie. Does the fact that you disagree with him give you a special right to start throwing around childish insults?

Personally I'm not entirely sure whether this was meant as a parody on action movies. It had all the flaws possible in one movie.

One correction, he didn't bet the $750,000, he only bet the original $19,000, which times 15 (the horse was 15:1) makes $285,000, the amount she says she got (minus the bookie's cut).

Mediocre, yeah. Bad, well...I've seen far worse.

The movie is obviously flawed on many levels, but I knew that the minute I put it into my dvd-player. What I didn't expect was that at least it kept its mediocrity consistent, instead of becoming annoyingly bad. It's mainly Eric Roberts portrayal of this guy that keeps the movie going.
