Donovon Green

I just finished watching the special ep. "Life on the Outside". I remember seeing the earlier regular episode with Donovon when he was in jail, and even then I thought he had a good chance of making it when he got out.

Well this great show just confirmed that.. Donovon really seems to be a stand-up guy who's trying to stay on the straight and narrow, and keep himself and his family out of trouble... a really well done documentary to catch if you ever have the chance.

It's quite troubling that he's having such a hard time finding any sort of crappy job at all, but I hope things improve in that department for him and his family soon.

I have a friend who spent time in prison for manufacturing meth. After she was released she got a job at Arby's making minimum wage, she became manager of her store. She may be the exception to the rule.

I was also interested on how Donovan was doing after both episodes - doing some googling showed he has active websites and social media. He claims to being doing really well. He moved away from his hometown (a smart, yet difficult decision to leave friends & family), which really show his commitment to lead a "straight" life. He has a job as a chef and is available for speaking engagements. I wish him all the luck in the world!
