Reflection from Toronto

I am so pleased that I had a chance to watch this movie. It is probably the best film Goran Markovic has done so far. Why do I say this?
The fact that this production is dedicated to his parents Olivera and Rade Markovic, the stars of Yugoslav theater and films speaks volumes. Author Goran Markovic uses his insider privilege, his VIP card in the world of actors to tell the story about actors in the war. It is known that some actors, after Belgrade was liberated in 1945, were prosecuted as traitors and punished ... even killed. So what with the actors in this recent Balkan war? To answer that question Markovic uses important attribute of actor's nature - that is the fact that iconic sign, actor always signify him/herself and something else(the character) at the same time. So, actors collect memories of time, they are carrying the past on their shoulders as the collective memory is reflected on their personalities - both private and acted. "Turneja" ("Tour") is a film story narrated with confidence of the author who knows his stuff inside-out.I gave it 9 out of 10. One mark deducted as I did not want to look as an easy marker.
