Damnit! I wanted the hostages to kill those f0ckers

that took them hostage. I don't *beep* care if they did it to kill aliens.
I was mentally yelling at the screen for the hostages to break free and torture the f0ckers to death.
But no, not only were the hostage-takers killed by the monsters instead, that last bitch even survived.

Argh, this is the only movie where I've wanted to jump right into the story and take action.

I know what you mean. The hostage takers were so over-the-top hostile and choleric all the time (especially that Kane fellow), it really took me out of the movie. I assume we were supposed to look at them as normal people, sacrificing themselves to carry out a dirty deed for the good of humanity, but to me, they just seemed like antisocial assh'les, who used the alien thing as an excuse for their little power trips. I think it's pretty ridiculous that the writers actually had the nerve to give those guys a few sudden "emotional" moments, like when Kane dies. As if anyone would give a damn about a character, who spent the entire movie just yelling generic gangster crap, while shoving a gun into people's faces.

This is just another movie ruined by terribly clumsy characterization, in my opinion. Hopefully, the director will get better writers for his next project, because I really did like the looks of this one.
