Burn the writer and director

I watched this piece of crap last night.
I give it an F -
I was okay with it until the 3rd act.
An innocent man gets brutally and graphically tortured to death, and it is all played for laughs.
I wasn't laughing. It was hard to watch.
I hated Illeana Douglas so much in this movie. Or maybe I should say that I hated her character.
I had to pop in Cape Fear after I was done and watch her get raped and beaten by Max Cady about 20 times to make me feel better about what I saw her do in Otis.
If the director and writer think that graphic torture of an innocent person is so knee-slapping funny, I hope that their families get abducted and tortured in the same way. And I hope they get to watch.
Let's see how funny they think it is then.
This is the worst movie I have ever seen.

The fact that you have such a intense repulsion to a scene that is "designed" to be funny underlines the complexity of the film. I too found what they did unjust and wrong, even thought it was cartoonishly over-the-top.

There is no "complexity" to this film. It's a poor attempt at black comedy and it wound up being a stupid mess. Had they really gotten to torture Otis, it would have been much better. When they decided to use the torture of the brother as a source of comedy, they put the last nail in the coffin. The other lame humor could have been forgiven had they not used the torture scene that they used. Just a failure. Interesting idea though.

You have mental problems.

Your a f ucking idiot to not understand the film's intended silliness and satire. Burn the writer? Really? Thomas Schnauz writes some of the best episodes of Breaking Bad, the best show on Television right now.

This film is a masterpiece, easily Daniel Stern's best role. Much more family-oriented than Cape Fear.
