Lovely gem of a movie.

Thought I'd start this thread to discuss random topics about this movie, assuming of course that anyone other than myself visits this board, lol.

First off - I must say that when I bought this movie and slipped it in my dvd player, I was not prepared for much, no expectations. Needless to say that I was totally impressed by the end of it. So glad I came across it!

The entire cast was solid.
Both lead actors - easy on the eyes, phenomenal acting with incredible chemistry. I could feel the burdens each of their characters carried - the rich/shy man in his cage, unable to be himself, self-loathing, in love with someone who would not reciprocate & suffocating from the pressures of family expectations; the poor man, hardened and cynical, taking on whatever he can to make something of himself. Each had so many hurdles to overcome in order to be who they knew they wanted to be.

I love the reversal of the circumstances/roles for both Su-min and Jae-min throughout the movie. E.g. We start out with Jae-min falling hard for Su-min and pursuing him relentlessly; halfway through the movie, Su-min has let his guard down, allowed himself to fall in love and becomes the pursuer. There are so many of these parallels. Loved that.

One question:

- At what point do you think Su-min starts to care/fall for Jae-min?

In terms of physical attraction, I just feel that it was mutual from the beginning, going from their body language at their very first encounter. Jae-min was more obvious about it when he made a pass at Su-min.
By the time they go for a walk in the park after they nearly fight at XLarge,(when Su-min rejects Jae-min yet again), I am sure that at that point Su-min already knew he liked Jae-min but was resisting him because he was sure there was no future for them based on their class/social differences.

I just wish we could've seen more of their happier moments (before Jaemin is forced to choose between the one he loves and his 'honorable place' in society).
