I did not understand the significance of that scene. We only see that friend that one time, right? What was the point of that scene? Not that it wasn't enjoyable..

shareYou can pretty much feel that Honore was trying to show us how bright Erwann is- how many American kids could recite 'Le Cri du Butor' by Artaud? Or his US equivalent, Ezra Pound?
Of course we know he is brilliant because he speaks French so well...!

Of course Erwann speaks French well. He IS French. He said he was from Brittany.
