I'll be excited to see the sequel because Love Songs is now one of my favourite French films ... well, modern French film.
:)
At the same time, I also agree with everyone that the ending was perfect -- the symbolism of the ledge, Ismael in the same yellow sweater that he had on in the beginning when he was in his apartment with Julie, the ambiguity, the last line from the Jewish book. It was absolutely perfect, and I'd hate to see something follow that might be different from what I imagine.
I think the sequel will feature Erwann distancing himself because he's found interest in girls, not boys. For some reason, although from Love Songs we're led to believe he's gay, I feel that he is just young and doesn't know what he wants. So he'll try it out with Ismael, then find himself slowly attached to a girl from school, and Ismael will be disappointed because Ismael will have created an emotion attachment that he didn't want with Erwann. That would be amazing.
