I just seen a commercial for this show (it looks awful btw) where the women were bitching about their co-worker dating a white woman. WTF!?
Anyone who has a problem with interracial dating in this day and age is racist scum.. What a crappy racist show. Let's not even talk about the rampant stereotyping.

I agree. I saw that commercial too and I was also offended by it. Anyone who despises racism should move to get this show put off the air.

shareI gotta agree, the whole issue of interracial dating is getting tired, we live in a world now that is becoming a melting pot, the issue of black women sitting around and bitching about black men dating white women is getting tired, people should be able to date whoever they please, no one is stopping them from dating outside of their race. And as far as I'm concerned this show sucks, because it lacks originality, a lot of the story lines were copied from other films i.e. the scene with the women complaining about who black men should date or marry, looks exactly like a scene out of Spike Lee's film "Jungle Fever" it's same bitching bellyaching wining session going on. The setting of the beauty salon came out of the film "Waiting to Exhale" Love sees no color, or shouldn't anymore, if your going to date someone for their skin color and not the basis of their character, you have serious issues. This show is full of buffonery, and very stereotypical and tired!. The same old tired stereotypes.

shareThe fact of the matter is that while interracial dating may be more common now, there are still plenty of people on all sides complaining about it! There are still parents who don't want their son/daughter to bring someone [fill in the blank ethnic group] home, to date that person, or, God forbid, to marry that person and have children.

the simple fact that it is called "interracial dating" really points to the issue. The other posters made comments about skin color not mattering (as it should not) but in some realms it does matter. More people have an issue with this then just a few inbred klan members in the backwoods of Kentucky.
(not defending the show or the original statement, just the concept that some people today still have a "problem" with it.)
The fact that many people still think of social "race" in scientific terms is concerning. The social and scientific applications of race are not interchangeable. The social terminology is arbitrary and assigned by dominants, not based on science or genetics, but merely appearance and social status.
