Religious motifs

along with the more obvious mentions of Heaven and Hell gate, what was brought to my attention was the connection of stars with the contractors powers. The stars made me think of Jesus and Satan both two supernaturals who had stars intimately connected with them. Jesus had a star that guided shepards to his birth site and Satan is referred to in the bible as the fallen star or something of that nature.

Just something to think about

Satan =/= Luficer. It all ended up as a mistranslation originally in King James version because Lucifer means light bringer or the bringer of light, and it is associated with the morning star since it is the last "star" to shine before sunrise, ergo it brings with it the light of day. Also, Satan just means adversary, no specific person is really ever referred to. The fallen angel you are talking about is not Satan as later revealed during for example the book of Job.

There is realy no real connection between any of these things. A lot of is made up as a part of contemporary Christian mythos after the 14th century and forward. It's the same deal with the god Baphomet, for example. The only obvious religious reference you will find are indeed Heaven and Hell's Gate.
