Amusingly Poor Writing

I'm not even gonna go into details because it's not worth the time, but this was awful. Coincidence after coincidence and no real explanation of what happened. So many things didn't make sense, "We could use another vehicle." On your 1000 mile trip to California? Why? Decent gore if you're into that but overall this was terrible.

the gore and Jaimie Alexander's acting is what sold this for me

Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today

I don't know if I'd call it "amusingly poor writing". That just seems too snobbish of a comment for me.

Given that this series is putting itself in a weird ghost/timey thing, I don't really expect every little thing to be able to be ironed out on a nerd forum. But at the same time it really is kind of irksome this movie aims to expand the mythology here but ends up leaving it possibly a way of "well is it?" and then we get no third movie to answer the questions.
