I have watched 3 episodes so far and I too find very boring.
First of all maybe I should say that I am not a native english speaker ( ok, I guess I miss some of the dialogue ) and I have no experience in military whatsoever... despite this I always enjoy a good war movie, I've watched many, but despite the rating and so many vets here saying that GK is great, I find it extremely boring
I know that modern wars are "boring" and I'm not comparing this with BoB, nor I'm expecting explosions and fire 99% of the time, but I can't find a single thing to relate to in this series. Usually when there's no action, there's plenty of time for character development, in other films / series I like I feel the bond , the sense of brotherhood among the soldiers, or...I don't know... the sense of anticipation, the fear, the thought of home...something interesting to watch... I don't see or feel anything here so far. I can't even tell one soldier from another ( except for a psycho who shoots at camels and kids, two young officers, a guy who talks and talks while he's driving ), I can't relate to them and I can't even tell what their mission is!
This might be me and my bad english, but I don't really get it: what is their mission??? Do they make it up as they move in the country? In the last episode they got an airfield so that they could arrive there before the the brits?? Did I get this right??

The only good thing is that reading this board I found a post about another movie ( "warriors" about Bosnia ) which I watched yeststerday and I found great.
I really wanted to find a good movie about Iraq too, I've recently watched the british "Kajaki" about Afghanistan and, again, I found it great.
GK is a 5/10 for me. It's a shame because I had high expectation reading the reviews.
I think this could have been a good documentary, but not a hbo series.
