The idea that George W. Bush knew about, let alone ordered these actions is a fantasy. Like it or not, the Commander-in-Chief is not responsible for the acts of individual soldiers who may or may not commit atrocities on the battlefield. By that logic, Barack Obama should be prosecuted for the crimes of S/Sgt Robert Bales. I take it you never got your law degree, yes?

Actually this story isnt all that uncommon and thats what makes war such a sad occurrence. I only know of one truly justified war in US history and even then, we caused the deaths of thousands of civilians. The cost of lives both military and civilian must always be taken in to account when considering whether or not to go to war but that isn't always the case.

I'm sure you could make a case for every President to be a war criminal. Most people are just very selective with which Presidents they hold accountable for what deeds.

For example, is President Obama a war criminal? In May of 2011 he authorized US forces to invade the sovereignty of Pakistan in the hunt for a Saudi citizen. Those same forces shot and killed that unarmed Saudi without so much as a "put your hands up" command. If this happened on the streets of New York or LA the word "murder" would be used. Yet few consider President Obama to be a war criminal for such actions.

To answer your question, no US forces are not allowed to "fire AK's like douchebag morons" or play with dead bodies. There are international rules of war that must be abided by and it is generally accepted that civilians will become casualties of war. This is an inevitable tragedy that has occurred in every armed conflict in the history of man.

Yep. Indeed. The UN and British government too, as this invasion was based on deliberate political false reports of Iraq being a treat to the USA and UK . Won't happen though. So sad we killed up to 100,000 civilians but 'liberated' the now wonderfully peaceful, safe and improved Iraq...

Didn't you see the UN and USA and UK in Yugoslavia? Appropriating the press reports to hide UN bombings on civilians, they bombed the Chinese embassy FFS. Bombed TV stations as military targets, bombed civilian refugee convoys and bare faced reported that Serbs had deliberately shelled them! Threatened Russian aid ships, who paid them no attention.

The representation in the press now of our 'wars' is a joke.

They should. Very early on in the serie we get pointed out by the first violation of the Geneva Convention, with many more to follow. However the USA will never be held accountable for anything in The Hague.
Simply because the USA is not part of the international criminal tribune. They signed it once, then pulled out and not ratified it since.
