A Cult Movie

I was greatly impressed by Mr. Kashyap's No Smoking ... It was the most refreshing and thought provoking 'bollywood' movie that I've seen in my decade of film viewing ..

This work may even be compared to the works of great David Lynch . Though the movie wasn't so multilayered and complicated as his works generally are, it certainly dwelled on those lines .

I think that 10 years from now , this would be seen as a benchmark in Indian cinema .. And it has the makings of a cult movie alright .

Snobbery sells more than anything else in this industry. Once critics or popular crowd lament a movie, people consider it a blasphemy to have a different opinion. If it had Khalid Mohamed's backing or Aamir Khan in the lead role, the same people who panned it would have vomited rainbows.

very true ,
The film would have bombed nevertheless, but the "critics" would have at least given it a 3 star rating if it had SRK or Aamir.

To the OP,

Yes very true. It is on the lines of David Lynch Movies, but very original.

True, This movie is indeed a cult movie, one that will be remembered for a long time, None of the SRK *beep*

100% agree dude.. Shove in some preachy messages and make a decent movie - and of course let Aamir Khan play the lead role.. That's a Goddamn classic!!

This movie is a brilliant attempt and I wanna puke on the faces of those critics who didn't understand the movie and panned it as if it was the worst movie ever made..
