It isn't continuously funny but I enjoyed several belly laughs along the way. It's a very fun film.

My friends and I thought it sucked. It tries hard to be funny but fails miserably.

Avoid it and just ignore the shills who are hyping this piece of crap.

reply

What yank soto said. Really. Just plain painful to watch.

reply

I thought it was hilarious. May be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

reply

Just watched this last night and it's really pathetic. It's so bad that you'll wonder how it even got made.

reply

Yeah, Ken Foree telling the story how he crapped his pants wasn't funny at all. Neither was the grim reaper jumping out of the closet at the retirement home. Or Sasquatch at the Mall being influenced by the Beatles Abbey Road. Nah, not funny. Or the definition of LMB Productions, no humor there... Or the cowboy investor, completely flat. Or the freaking classic dubbing scene. Just boring. And forget about Gunnar Hansen's F Bombs. Yeah...now that I think about it, I was laughing out loud the entire movie, but it was mostly forced. I was probably just high.

IMO, whoever dosen't think this film is funny has no sence of humor or just is too weak in the brainpan to get it. For those peeps may I suggest saturday morning cartoons? They may better cater to your sensibilities.

This film is *beep* brilliant in so many ways, not least of which is its ability to make fun of itself while making fun of itself.

While the finer and more intelligent humor may be a bit hard on the slower set out there, there is plenty of pie in the face as well.

I loved this film, and if your funny bone is in proper working order, you will as well.

You can always spot a piece of crap film when you visit a board and see that a bunch of idiot shills are flooding the message board with OBVIOUS fake reviews and fanfare. Sorry shills, this movie SUCKS! The only funny thing related to this movie are the fake positive reviews it's gotten.

Wow, anyone who has a difference of opinion about this piece of crap movie has a "stick up their a**"? That's interesting logic ya got there. You should know that you do this movie no favors by attacking people who don't like it, in fact, it'll ultimately lead to a war of insults between the legit fans, the haters and the shills and do we really need that?

reply

You got a point. I hate looking at boards when people go back and forth like idiots. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. So my bad about the stick up the a** thing. It wasn't thought out all to well, it was the first thing that came to mind to defend a movie I enjoyed.

I liked this film, you didn't, and we'll agree to disagree lol.

reply

Perfect! So much nicer to be able to just agree to disagree. No sense in fighting over any movie because it's always subjective anyway. No one is right, no-one is wrong.

reply

It was moderately funny. It definitely was trying quite hard; but Gunnar was absolutely hilarious as the crazy drunken Vietnam vet.

This is one of those movies where your either gonna love it or hate it. Personally it runs along the lines as This Is Spinal Tap.

Maybe not quite the same level as Spinal Tap but if you enjoy a film that's clearly a laugh at the making of really bad horror films you'll probably enjoy this.

To me? I laughed and laughed hard, some of the happenings are so absurd you have to laugh...it makes me wonder how much was written to be funny, and how much comes from actual stories.

reply

The writer/director of the film used some of his personal experiences as parts of the film. Namely Crenshaw. :)
