Did they ever explain the nurse ghost's story?

Maybe I missed something but I never saw or heard an explanation for the nurse ghost.. and she just happened to be the very first ghost Pincus met in the movie but they never elaborated on her story. (or maybe I missed it)
She follows Pincus around like all the other ghosts, but she never seems to have approached him for any kind of help.
Her character seems to be a tragic type. She always appears sad or downcast about something. It would have been interesting to know what her story was.

She looked like a World War II nurse... she's probably down from the war and being around so long after.

I noticed the old uniform as well, she must have been hanging around for ages

Also there was a policeman in a vintage uniform (in the scene under the bridge in Central park)

She was the first ghost with whom Pincus communicated and she did keep popping up in the ghost crowd scenes, but I don't believe her story was ever explained.

Possibly a deleted scene??

She was just there to get the ghost-following thingy going, since she was at the hospital (probably haunting it, since it's a hospital and she's a nurse). There were a lot of other ghosts whose story we never find out about either. So what? Why waste the viewers' time going through everyone's story? It would kill the movie.

She was there because she was upset about Obamacare....jk I would be interested in her story as well.

I'm afraid her story isn't told. In the commentary, the director points out that her uniform dates her around the 1940s, and that maybe he went a bit too retro with it. This leads into him talking about the rule for ghosts, it's a live person who is keeping them on Earth. In the film's universe, that means the nurse has been helplessly watching someone's unresolved pain for almost 70 years, no wonder she's looking so sad (I like to think the actress knows the backstory, even if no one else does).
