Omar (spoilers)

So what do yo think was the turnaround for Omar to beign respecting Aicha as a fighter, when he had caused so much disruption and pain in her and her family's life? It seems that he respected and even admired in in the end. Does anyone think that Aicha and Omar might end up together at some point in their life? It is obvious that she likes the Redhead, who is adorable and vice versa-but She is on a different plane spiritually and romantically than him.

I was actually hoping that they would end up the moment he stepped into the dojo! Lol! I think you're right. Omar's turning point must've been during the family row in the kitchen at the engagement party. I believe he gained more respect for her during the alley scene where she saved her brother. I don't think the redhead would last in that family and culture. I mean he laughed when she mentioned "marriage" in the stairway scene, understandably, but that's her culture and he obviously didn't understand that. Sure she could teach him this and that but ultimately, atleast how I've seen in my life dating outside of my culture, outsiders may try and understand customs, but they may never fully understand and/or accept it.

Well said Sinitalela. It is understandable that the Redhead laughed, but also in my experience, exogamous marriages do not work well, although love is love and all of that. I am a product of two cultures and two peoples who loved each other, but sadly, that is not enough. Persistence, understanding, compassion is also needed, even more so than in endogamous unions. More than Aisha, Omar truly matured as well.

Not too mention religiously, as well as culturally. But she's certainly a dark horse in her own family.🐭
