Mixed up martial arts
Supposedly the fighting in this movie is kung fu, but all of the students wear gis, and there are katanas in the "dojo". If you make a movie with martial arts in it, at least do some research and get it right.

shareExactly, totally ridiculous.Yeah sure, so ridiculous the producers have kung fu master Xian Gao appearing in it(Sifu), as well as choreographing it. The gymnastic/jumping side of things is exaggerated to underline the action component, but the majority of techniques we see demonstrated are derived from kung fu.
BTW this film has a far more serious tone, more depth and examines much deeper issues than Bend It Like Beckham.🐭 share
